Ways to get involved in the campaign for better cycling conditions:

Twice a year NCM organises a count of bicycle traffic at strategic points around Newcastle. It takes 2 hours either on a Tuesday or Sunday morning and gives information that is very valuable for cycleway planning purposes. At the first one in October 2011 we counted 1285 people. See the Bikescount page for a full report. To join in the next one just email your name  to

Is there something about cycling you love or hate? Producing a short video is pretty easy, all you need is a camera, a computer and an idea. See the example made by Ben Ewald and Michel Poppinghouse when the Wallsend to Glendale cycleway was just a proposal.

Load your video to youtube and we will embed it on our videos page.

NCM meets at the Adamstown Club on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7pm. Just ask as the reception desk which room we are in.
